A lot of people really love the beach, and some of them tried to feel that beach holiday ambiance by infusing their homes with beach decorations and themes. If you’re one of them, you may consider applying a beach theme in your living room right now. Even if you’re not live by the beach, you can always achieve that breezy beach feels with a few tricks.
If you want to decorate a beach themed living room, or also known as coastal style living room, consider using blue color palette in various shades to mimic an airy space and breezy sea. Bring some of maritime blue colors and dune grass greens, to your beach themed coastal living room to create an easygoing holiday feel of a beautiful seaside cottage. To mimic this airy and inviting space, decorate with soothing hues, seaside accessories, like beach glass and seashells, and seagrass furnishings like a basket of sea treasures. If you want to be a little bit playful, you can also add wood boat-shaped shelves (painted in distressed white, or leave them bare wood) and a fake lifeguard’s rescue tube.
For a more vintage looking coastal living room, add some vintage coastal printed fabrics and pillows, and add some sea-themed decorations such as seagrass Roman shades and several framed sketches of conches and seashells. You can also use a sandy, neutral color as an accent between the light blues and nautical stripes in your beach inspired living room. To make the room even feels more airy, consider hanging a big harbor or beach painting on an empty wall.
If you want a unique coastal living room, consider using bamboo furnishing, such as tiki-styled bamboo chairs or coffee table, decorated with tropical prints on pillows, cushions or curtains (pick one). You can also hang a beach painting with coconut trees and yellow flowers, combine it with light and breezy white curtains, beadboard walls, and nautical inspired lampshades.
For a more cottage-like beach-inspired living room, you can also opt for a set of wicker furnishing or driftwood table and chairs, which will look good with tropical prints and seaside accessories. Combine your wicker chairs or table with beige and sand-colored fabrics, and add a sea-themed accent such as conch-patterned pillow covers or table runner. For a more tropical look, decorate your beach themed living room with a small, potted palm tree.
