The dining area, just as kitchen, is one of the most important areas of the home. It is the place where family and friends gather to socialize, to have some good food and chit-chats. It’s really important to have a comfortable dining room, but making it stylish will also make your companions feel cozy.
When designing and decorating the area, one important thing to consider is the dining room lighting fixtures. If you want to make the room fabulously modern, consider using modern lighting fixtures as well. The fixtures can greatly affect to the entire ambiance of the room, giving the family and the guests a good time while consuming their luscious meals or having great after-meal conversations.
To decorate the room with lighting, you can choose many kinds of modern dining room lighting fixtures. A dimmable one will add needed ambiance for certain occasions. Highlight some decors with lighting to create dramatic looks. A modern chandelier will also be perfect to create cozy atmosphere. Here are some tips to decorate your modern dining room with some lighting fixtures:
1) Bring various light sources into the dining room
Instead of using a single source of light, make your dining room more dramatic with various kinds of lighting. They will also become additional decorations in your dining area. A single chandelier or pendant lamp can be too bright, so avoid that by using multiple layers of light.
2) Put the chandelier on to add drama
The modern dining room doesn’t necessarily avoid chandeliers. In fact, the decorative fixture can be a focal point and make your dining area looks fabulous. Put the chandelier or more modern pendant lighting fixture over the dining table, at the center. The diameter of the chandelier should be 12 inches less than the wide of the table, and the bottom should be at least 30 inches above the table.
3) Use a dimmer switch to adjust the light amount
A dimmer switch will be the ultimate tool to maximize your dining room’s functions. It will create needed ambiance for various purposes, depending on the event. For an intimate dinner with your significant other, dim the lights down. When you’re holding a great family gathering, add greater amount of lights.
4) Use pendant lights to make it dramatic
Pendant lights are the prominent decorations in your dining room. Hang them in the center of the table, one or more. It will allow the shades to take center stage. Choose modern pendant lighting fixtures that match the general style of the dining area. One thing to keep in mind, hang them high enough so they don’t hit the heads of the dining parties, and not too high and prevent them in giving the right illumination.
5) Place some wall sconces for romantic ambiance
Not just for decorations, wall scones also act as the dramatic additions to your dining room. You can dim those lightings to create ambiances, or for intimate dining, you can turn the wall sconces on only.
6) Fluorescent will bring decent lights to your dining room
When you need a brighter dining room, don’t be hesitate to use fluorescent lights. They will give a great amount of light when you need it. Dimmers can be added to make the amount of the lights more flexible to adjust.
