To create a beach-themed bedroom, you only need traditional furniture and decorations, such as the bed, a night table and wardrobe, shelves and armchairs, as well as some wall decoration or wall decals. For a beautiful coastal bedroom, try to focus on a few items, such as the color in the room, the furniture, as well as linens and decorations.
1) Great Colors for Beach-themed Bedroom
Colors in the beach-themed coastal bedroom should be light and reflecting happiness. The aimed ambiance is the one which helps you to relax and feel a laid-back feeling. To achieve that goal, try to mix bright sunny yellow with light blue, then add some sand-colored furniture. You can also use beige and off-white, pale aqua, and match them with distressed wood bed frame, side table and chairs. To add a style, create a textured wall behind the headboard.
2) Choose Beach-themed Furniture and Decorations
For the bed frame, choose a beach style wrought iron or wooden furniture painted with coral, white or broken white colors. You can also add a cottage style bed canopy for the beach-inspired bedroom. Choose only fabrics that are flowy and light, as you’re copying the style of the beach house which located in hotter parts of the country. Add a matching night table and wardrobe, and you can decorate the room with exotic seashells.
Bed linen, pillows and comforter’s colors should match the theme of the bedroom, such as blue, aqua, white and sand colors. Decorate the beach-themed bedroom wall with a painting of a beach, or photos taken at the beach, or maybe a quote written in pieces of driftwoods. Consider to add a boat-shaped shelf for a more beachy feeling. For your lounging need, you can opt for a bean bag. Decorate the painted white ceiling with a ceiling fan.
3) Add Some Wicker Furniture for a More Tropical Feeling
To bring the island atmosphere to your beach-themed bedroom, consider to add a wicker armchair to create a cozy reading nook. You can also add an area rug with simple design and pattern. If possible, replace your floor with stylish and beautiful hardwood flooring, but for a cheaper option, wood laminate flooring will also do. But avoid yellow-toned floor, and opt for gray, taupe and white floor instead.
