What’s the difference between living room and the so called family room? Well, it’s sure confusing because we hardly ever found different types of furniture in both rooms. But a family room is designed for the family to relax and do certain activities, such as watching movies or sports matches, reading, playing games together, and so on, while living rooms are designed to entertain guests and have a rather formal setting.
In a modern family room, you will find more comfortable furnishings, such as cushy cushions, leather sofas, ottomans, loungers, recliners, and even a fireplace. Comforts are more important than stylish furniture and fashionable chairs.
A family room is usually taken location at the back of the house and maybe near the kitchen, bedrooms and maybe outdoor area. In contrast, living rooms are usually located in the front part of the house to welcome guests.
