Get bored of your kitchen’s look? Why don’t you try to do an upgrade? If you want to refresh the look of your kitchen without needing too much money and efforts, a smart way to do it is to add or change the backsplash or add some, which only takes a weekend and cost as low as five dollars per square foot. No need a massive restructure, and you don’t even need to move any appliances! How good are that sounds?
Here are some ideas to make a sophisticated and cool kitchen using backsplash tiles:
1) Tiny-squares pattern
A patterned backsplash is one of the smartest and easiest ways to adorn simple and plain kitchen cabinetry. The 1-inch glass mosaic tiles will be a beautiful backdrop for the neutral colored kitchen cabinets. Combine some neutral mosaic tonnes for the backsplash, which will blend very well with kitchen’s granite or wooden countertops, as well as the stainless-steel appliances. But if you want to create an eclectic, bohemian kitchen look, feel free to play with brighter colors.
2) Natural stones
You can opt for either natural-looking tiles or real natural stones to add earthy tones to embellish and add warmth to your kitchen. Natural tiles in different shades go well with nearly any kitchen, from modern-looking to rustic ones. The combination of dark and light shades prevent the kitchen from being too distressed or to airy, and the natural look of the tiles bring an outdoorsy feel in.
3) Myriad of patterns
Adorn your kitchen with a hint of imported style with some whimsical patterns from other parts of the world. You can create a boho-chic look with intricate Moroccan pattern tiles while keeping the rest of the kitchen simple. You can also create a mosaic with different patterns, or play with any patterns you like to create an eclectic, sophisticated look.
4) Combination of bright and solid colors
You can bring a Mondrian effect to your stylish kitchen by combining square, bright-colored ceramic tiles to create kitchen’s backsplash. The colors go very well with dark, mahogany or cherry kitchen cabinets, but also work for white kitchens.
5) Play with shapes and sizes
Combine assorted ceramic tiles in various shapes and sizes in the same shades to create a classic and warm kitchen backsplash. You can also combine bold and patterned small tiles to create the look. Backsplashes created from tiles in geometric shapes will also create trendy kitchens.
6) Add some shimmers
Onyx mosaic tile backsplash will create a stylish and glamorous kitchen, and transform your cooking area into a sophisticated corner. The shimmering backsplash ornate painted kitchen cabinets and goes well with the appliances, too. You can either keep it neutral or play with some patterns. Aside from onyx, you can also use small pieces of glass to create the shimmers.
