As a prominent relaxing and resting place during the day, and sleep during evening, a master bedroom must have all the comfort and cosiness, as well as beauty and harmony. Aside from a comfortable bed, homeowners have added a private bathroom, and some even have a porch or balcony connected to their master bedrooms to provide fresh air and view of beautiful garden. No wonder, because they spend most of our time in the bedroom, and they want it to be as enjoyable as possible. The master bedroom could be considered as everyone’s favorite place!
To make a beautiful and comfortable master bedroom, there are some essentials in designing process, and we’re here to help you. So, let’s get started!
1) Choose Your Colors
Colors used in a master bedroom shouldn’t go wrong. They have to be perfectly suit and represent your taste and personality. But generally, using neutral shades proven to be the safest step in designing a master bedroom. You can choose some shades of neutral colors, warm colors, earth colors and pastel colors as they couldn’t go wrong. Make sure that the colors of your furniture and even fabrics complement each other. That way, you’ll create a gorgeous and relaxing space for you to enjoy times with yourself.
2) A Good Wall Decor Will Make a Master Bedroom
When you’re done with choosing the big, comfortable bed, spare a time to think about wall decorations. You can opt to use wallpapers, wall decals, murals, or maybe some beautiful paintings or framed photos. You can actually consider to frame and hang your kids’ artworks on your master bedroom’s walls. This is the cheapest way to decorate but provide lots of meanings.
3) Choose Right Materials for the Floor
You are free to choose ceramic tiles, marble or granite, but they tend to be cold. You can make use of laminated flooring, wood, or carpet instead, if you desire. But if you want to choose cold materials for your floor, you can always put a rug or carpet on your bedside.
4) Consider the traffic in your bedroom
One rookie mistake that homeowners used to do is they didn’t consider the traffic in their bedrooms when designing the layout. You need to have a good traffic inside your master bedroom, just as other bedrooms in the house. At least provide 24 inches space between furnitures for traffic lanes. Make sure the path towards the bathroom is clear, so people wouldn’t stumble on anything when they have late night trips towards it.
5) Put attention on colors and designs of bedroom’s fabrics
When choosing bedcovers and curtains for a master bedroom, try to see a big picture to make sure they will go harmoniously well with everything else in the room. Try to look for colors and designs that suits the concept of your room. They will be perfect representation of your personality, so choose carefully.
6) Use right lightings
You can opt to a pendant lamp in the middle of the room, but you can also choose lampshades, up lights and pin lights. The last three will provide great mood to your room. Choose the dimmable ones, so you can easily modify the ambiance to fit your mood.
7) Have smart storages
A cabinet is a must for a master bedroom, however, it only serves as a storage for your clothes and accessories. You have many other things to store and organize, such as books, shoes, umbrellas, makeups, and other clutters. Make sure you have enough storage for them, and make the storage the smart ones thus they won’t ruin the overall design of the master bedroom.
