Kitchen is a heart of every house, and if you started to feel bored of your kitchen’s look, or it started to looks outdated, maybe it’s time to do some renovations and remodels. Whether you buy new cabinets or paint the old ones, your “brand new” kitchen should provide a new spirit and refreshment to your home. They have to be as comfortable as the old one, but with a fresh new look that will make you feel like staying at home all day. Here are some kitchen remodeling tips to help you get started.
1) Be keen on trends
There’s always something new in the market to improve your kitchen’s look and function. By knowing latest kitchen technological trends and improvements, you can remodel your kitchen with less expensive, to create a more eco-friendly kitchen with the fabulous new look.
2) Don’t move the plumbing
Keep them where it is, because moving water and gas lines to accommodate your sinks, ovens, stoves, or dishwashers in their new positions can be extremely expensive. You need to keep those appliances where they are, but you’re free to refresh their look or to buy some new ones. Keep any pipe-connected elements where they are, and keep some extra cash in your pocket.
3) Keep your floor plan in mind
If you do have the budget to rearrange appliances and plumbing, you need to watch for the wrong floor plan and make sure the mistake won’t happen again. Follow the natural triangular traffic pattern between the refrigerator, stove, and oven. Put the dishwasher next to the sink to avoid the mess you have to deal with for years.
4) Remodel your cabinets
If you want to save on cabinets, you can repurpose and remodel them by adding new doors and drawer fronts, re-laminating fronts and sides or repainting. But don’t just paint them. Spray-paint them. Clean the cabinets and sand them lightly. If you’re pretty good with painting, you may DIY them yourself. If not, just use a professional spray job to make ugly cabinets look factory-new.
